Do I need to prepare for my appointment?
You do not need to prepare for the appointment, but you will be asked to bring documents as well as prescriptions, if applicable. Please refer to the list below for details.
What do I need to bring to my appointment?
On the day of your exam please bring with you:
Government-issued photo ID (e.g. passport, drivers licence, national ID card) *please note: Health cards are not an acceptable form of ID
Documents received from Immigration Canada, if any
Refugee documents, if applicable
Prescription medications, if any
Eye glasses or contacts, if you wear them
Any relevant medical documentation
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination, if you have been vaccinated
Do I need to fast before my appointment?
You do not need to fast beforehand.
When should I arrive for my appointment?
Patients are asked to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to their appointment.
When will my examination be submitted?
After all examinations and tests have been completed, your report will be submitted within one to two weeks via eMedical. Minor delays may occur if follow-up is required.
How will my medical examination be submitted to IRCC?
Your medical file will be completed and submitted electronically through government authorized submission website, eMedical.
How can I obtain a copy of my medical report?
You may request a copy of your medical report at the time of your visit. There will be a small administrative fee for this service.
Will there be a follow up appointment after my immigration medical examination?
Usually no follow up appointment is required. If there is any need to discuss your results, you will be contacted (either by our office or by IRCC) to book a follow up appointment.
