Do I need to prepare for my appointment?
You do not need to prepare for the appointment, but you will be asked to bring documents as well as prescriptions, if applicable. Please refer to the list below for details.
What do I need to bring to my appointment?
On the day of your exam please bring with you:
Government-issued photo ID (e.g. passport, drivers licence, national ID card) *please note: Health cards are not an acceptable form of ID
Documents received from Immigration Canada, if any
Refugee documents, if applicable
Prescription medications, if any
Eye glasses or contacts, if you wear them
Any relevant medical documentation
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination, if you have been vaccinated
Do I need to fast before my appointment?
You do not need to fast beforehand.
When should I arrive for my appointment?
Patients are asked to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to their appointment.
When will my examination be submitted?
After all examinations and tests have been completed, your report will be submitted within one to two weeks via eMedical. Minor delays may occur if follow-up is required.
How will my medical examination be submitted to IRCC?
Your medical file will be completed and submitted electronically through government authorized submission website, eMedical.
How can I obtain a copy of my medical report?
You may request a copy of your medical report at the time of your visit. There will be a small administrative fee for this service.
Will there be a follow up appointment after my immigration medical examination?
Usually no follow up appointment is required. If there is any need to discuss your results, you will be contacted (either by our office or by IRCC) to book a follow up appointment.
X-Ray & Lab
X-Rays
A chest X-ray is required for applicants 11 years of age and older.
Laboratory tests
Urine test - required for all applicants ages 5 and older
Blood test - HIV / syphilis / kidney function (creatinine) required for applicants 15 years of age and older
Additional laboratory tests may be required depending on medical history
Pricing
0 to 10 years old $160
11 to 59 years old $230
Over 60 years old $250
Refugee claimants with valid government documentation are covered under the IFH program.
The above fees include the chest X-Ray.
They do not include the laboratory fee. The laboratory fee for bloodwork is approximately $25.
Payments in Cash, Debit, Visa and Mastercard are accepted.

Dr. Sandra Isaac is a Panel Physician practising in Scarborough, Ontario. She is a graduate of the University of Toronto Faculty of Medicine. She has been practising family medicine for more than 30 years, and has been an accredited Panel Physician for over 25 years. She is approved by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to perform immigration medical examinations.
